Public garden leaders often struggle to attract talented people of color to their famously white worlds. Hear directly from five horticulture and teaching staff at three different gardens who came to their jobs through structured education and mentoring programs. Ask hard questions and get a clear sense of the commitment, investment, and time that help make public gardens places of real belonging for African American, Hispanic and Asian staff members, and understand that this is a two-way-value proposition that gardens neglect at their risk.
