Directors from Descanso Gardens in southern California, Burden Museum and Gardens in Louisiana, and the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Hawaii are confronting drought, hurricanes and rising sea levels as ongoing concerns. In this session, hear their creative approaches to preserving their gardens’ relevance and sustainability. The session will address their tools for resilience, coordinating natural and economic resources, developing new research and education programs, redefining collections for immediate and long-term success, and aligning community interests with change.
