Gardens at night offer a sense of mystery, heightening other senses as vision slips away. Evening visitors experience gardens at a special time of day, encountering scents of night-blooming flowers, the magic of a meadow alight with fireflies, and a night sky begging to be interpreted. Evening programs may focus on a single aspect of the natural world, celebrate specific holidays, even extend overnight. We will share successes and challenges from programs we have offered to tens, hundreds, and even thousands of participants, and we will offer tips for getting started with evening programming to reach new audiences.
